SACHA Therapeutics, a therapeutic innovation project originating from research at the Centre d’Étude des Pathologies Respiratoires (CEPR, Inserm U1100), has been awarded the i-Lab 2026 prize. This recognition highlights the potential of research conducted at the CEPR to drive therapeutic innovation for patients with severe influenza.

SACHA Therapeutics is developing an innovative dual-action therapeutic approach combining antiviral and immunomodulatory activities, with the aim of improving the treatment of severe influenza.

Originating from research at the CEPR, the project brings together several members of the laboratory: Mustapha Si-Tahar, PhD
Director, Research Center for Respiratory Diseases; Antoine Guillon, MD PhD
Professor, Critical Care Section of Tours University Hospital ; and Adeline Cezard, a postdoctoral researcher. They are joined by Samir Messaoudi and Norman Moullan, PhD, MBA, who will lead the company’s development as CEO, bringing valuable pharmaceutical industry experience.

Supported by partners including C-VaLo, the University of Tours, Inserm and the France 2030 programme, SACHA Therapeutics illustrates the CEPR’s commitment to translating scientific discoveries into innovative therapeutic solutions.

Following Adeline Cezard’s i-PhD Grand Prize in 2024, this i-Lab 2026 award marks a new milestone in the project’s journey towards clinical development.
